Being a mom of one son going to a cheerleading competition just never happened. Yesterday I went with Becky up to Casper to watch Cheyenne Central compete in the state tournament. It was interesting, exciting and a long day. It is a 3 hour drive up to Casper and we came back on the same day. At first we were only going to stay to see the school perform and leave before they announced the winners, but of course you get excited esp....when they do really well performing so you can't leave. At about 8 PM they finally started annoucing the winners and we thought for sure Central had won 1st in non-stunt but it didn't happen. We never did figure out why but they did take home 2 trophies for 3rd place in co-ed and all girls squad. I learned about a lot of small towns in Wyoming some of which I am still trying to find on a map..........we saw some very good cheer squads from Green River and of course in all judging sports there is contraversey in who they choose to win! Everyone did a great job and East took home a couple of trophies as well. It was fun but have to say going to a hockey game is still way better! CHEERS!
