This last weekend we headed up north to visit with Jason and Amanda. It was our usual trip drive like crazy.....stay for about 48 hours and then fight weather, roads and car problems to get home.

It is nice to be only a days drive away....but of course this time of year you never know what kind of weather you are going to get. It can be beautiful and warm or sunny and cold or worse a snow storm. We got a little bit of everything on this trip. Started off beautiful and warm......with some wind.....but the further north we got the stronger the wind blew and needless to say it was blowing across the roads causing snow drifts and some pretty slushy slippery roads. So our 9 hour drive was about 10......we did stop in Camrose and met up with Val for about an hour.

It was Grey Cup Weekend up north as well.....so there was a lot of action going on in the city of Edmonton. We all got downtown this time. Amanda and I went to pregnancy meeting and won a few door prizes and the guys walked around, had lunch and met us a couple of hours later. From there it was home to watch football and relax. The next day the kids had to work so Lloyd and I just hung out at the house then had lunch with Amanda and afterwards we picked up Jason at work and headed the best sports store......to get a late birthday gift and see if there was anything we might want or need for Christmas. We also hung out at the Stanley Cup statue a took a couple of pictures. Jason and Lloyd also painted the babys room and I guess Jason got the crib all put together.....I am waiting for pictures of that!

The next day it was the drive home which was going smooth until we were a few miles south of Calgary and then once again it was blowing drifting snow and slippery roads. By the time we hit Lethbridge there was accidents everywhere but we managed to get through. By the time we were at the border we knew our car was having terrible issues......we plugged along but about 50 miles from Great Falls we were officially broken down. After about a 2 hour wait for a tow truck in Brady Montana at the local bar we were on our way with the explorer being towed.

Today they call me to let me know they are fixing my car......replacing wheel bearings they have replaced less then a year ago! Of course they also have to tell me the only one not to be replaced now needs replacing as well!!! We wanted this car to last until Spring......I am praying it does!

Just about anything that can go wrong did go wrong but in the long run we are back home safe and things that all broke in the last day seem to be getting fixed today. I am keeping my head up and trying to be positive.
