My Doves have left the nest! In all 3 whole weeks since we first found them sitting on the eggs. I just read it takes 10-14 days from the time the eggs are hatched for the babies to leave and today they have ventured outside the nest. I read they have flimsy nests and will the eggs unattended if they feel threaten......well not this one. The mom and dad never left the nest until a couple of days ago. One was always close by even when the winds of over 70 MPH were howling and hail was beating against her, she protected those 2 little birds. Here are the pictures from when the babies were first hatched until today when the 2 little ones left to see other parts of the tree!
