Friends arrive for Change of Command......

On Wednesday afternoon we had friends start arriving for the Change of Command Ceremony. Our friends the Spaths drove up from Cheyenne and Kimberly cooked all the food for the open house. We were thinking about hiring a caterer but she was determined to do it.....and she did. Jason and Amanda came down from Edmonton Alberta and Val drove down from Frontier Saskatchewan. We also had friends from downtown come. Jason and Amanda also contributed to cooking and cleaning details, while Vance and Lloyd were in charge of making sure we had enough to drink.......and we did.

We woke up to great sunny weather and it ended up being a very nice day. The actually ceremony was good.....not too long. Col Kahn did a nice speech covering all of Lloyd's military career, and as promised Lloyd kept his speech brief.

Afterwards it was an open house at our home. All the food Kimberly made was great along with some salads and salsa that Amanda made......and along the way an amazing cake arrived and a great Salad, along with some food from the club. Needless to say we had more then enough food for everyone.

We stayed up well into the night......but it is nice to have it all over.

I want to thank my friends for being the best family I could ask for. Kimberly you were amazing......Val you give so much and I love ya! Gigi, Tracey, Diana, and Eva thanks for food, chairs, coolers etc. To Jason and Amanda I couldn't ask for better children. Thanks again for all you guys did this weekend. With out you guys this weekend wouldn't have been so successful.
